Plaza movie theater opening delayed - Orlando Business Journal:

Originally scheduled for May 25-27, the “sof t opening” benefit for the Downtown Arts District has been reschedulede toJune 1-3. The 12-screen located in the mixed-use developmeny on Orange Avenue, had to work on final touches, according to Kim Ellis, director of leasing for Beverlu Hills, Calif.-based landlord RP Realtyh Partners LLC. “We decided to take some additionalk time this week for staff traininbg to ensure the theatert experience is exceptional for even the veryfirs patrons,” Ellis stated in a May 26 e-mail, adding that the theatert already has its certificate of occupanct from the city of Orlando.
The theater also plans to proceed with its scheduled May 28 mediaq event andVIP reception, Ellis The Plaza Cinema Café began work on its $8 million buildout earlier this year. The city of Orlandko in December approvedproviding $6 milliobn towards that buildout througu two special assessments on the landlord. The long-delayedr 12-screen movie theater at The Plaza has been in the workxs for more thantwo years.
