Boston-based Modernista’s largest client is General Motorzs Corp. (NYSE: GM) in Detroit. The agenchy works on creative advertising for both Cadilla cand Hummer. The combined business was at one point worthabout $850 million annually in billings, according to Billings for Cadillac and combined, now are likely less, as GM has said it will cut back its totakl ad spend and announced monthsw ago that it planned on unloading its Hummer Modernista’s spokesperson had no comment on the news. Otherr local ad agencies that will likelyh feel the affectsof GM’s bankruptcuy filing include Digitas and Mullen, both in Digitas handles a variety of GM work includinvg Pontiac and Saturn.
GM is looking to sell both Mullen handles workfor GM’s used car and credif card business. GM’s plannes cuts in advertising spending is expected to impac t all of its marketing andad firms. In GM spent about $2.1 billionh on advertising, according to press reports.
