Curators of the University of Missouri, on behalf of UMKC and the JCCC Boardeof Trustees, will sign an articulation agreementr Wednesday at JCCC. The agreement guarantees that UMKC will accepgt and apply designated freshman and sophomore credits from JCCC associatr degree programs towardUMKC bachelor’s degreee programs, consistent with the treatment of non-transfedr student credits, UMKC said in a Tuesdayy release.
“As an urban-serving university, UMKC is dedicated to makiny higher education accessible to all studentsz and forming meaningful partnerships witharea institutions,” Mel Tyler, UMKC’s vice chancellor of student affairs and enrollmentr management, said in the release. “This articulatioh agreement with Johnson Countyh Community College is just one way we affirthat commitment.” UMKC also offers the Metrop Rate, a program that allows residentzs of Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas to pay in-statde tuition for undergraduate study.
