During breaks at NFL training camp, Cundiff wouldf open his laptopand study, many timee putting in 30 to 40 hours each week on the MBA througb the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU. Cundiff stilol is working out withNFL teams, this week with the Indianapoliz Colts and two weeks ago with the Clevelandc Browns. He’s not sure if he’ll get a job with eithefr of the teams, but has solidified a positionb within Scottsdale. “This is the best two-year investmentr I probably could have ever madein myself,” he said. “Ths W.P. Carey MBA Onlined Program gave me the flexibility to attensd training camp with the Atlanta Falcons while stilkl pursuingmy degree.
” With five years of regular season experience unde r his belt, the 29-year-old kickere was released from the Atlanta Falcons and the Kansasa City Chiefs while working on his degree. “I’v got to be the only guy in the MBA progra m who got fired from two jobs whilre in theMBA program,” he said. The last time he playe d a regular season game was in the NFC Championship durinf the2006 season. He played during the preseasonin 2007, but was release last year before training camp. Cundifv said he knew he had to start thinking aboug his future for when his footbalp careerwas over.
He and his wife, an had just bought a home in Phoeni when he decided to enrollin ASU’es MBA program. “Believe it or not, my online MBA team was a lot more functionalo than some of my NFL he said. “The online program also reallu helps you work on your communications andinterpersonap skills, since you’re not dealingh with people on a face-to-face basis.”
